This is such a cool exercise Andrew. I really like the bird. I think you should start trying to represent more of a line presence in these digi-paintings and see how that works for you. Line work can hold a lot of information and free your hand to do more experimental painting without loosing too much clarity.
Also, I'm loving all the "EL GRANDE" love, but where's the Joe Karg love:)
